Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree

“A DrPH is a professional degree designed for public health professionals who wish to work as a leader or administrator in private, public, or academic sectors. It sounds potentially even more diverse than an MPH, and that is really saying something.”

Harman S. Sandhu, Doctor of Public Health – Isn’t that just a PhD?

Deciding to pursue higher education is exciting and the possibilities are endless. Considering you are on this website, we’ll assume that you have narrowed down your interest to the field of Public Health for your doctoral-level education/training! Specifically, the Doctor of Public health (DrPH) degree is a great one to consider and is offered at many universities around the world.

We at PH SPOT know how difficult it is to compare all of the available programs and then decide on the top ones to apply to (been there, done that). So, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do the preliminary research for you and develop this handy dandy downloadable tool!

Access the list of
Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) programs
around the world

This tool compares 51 DrPH programs across 27 variables.
This is the tool you need to get started on your application.

Tips: How to decide which DrPH program to apply to

  1. Narrow down the list of programs based on attributes that are important to you, such as length of program, the country the institution is based in, or cost. (The preliminary research on each program is available in our tool – download it here.)
  2. Reach out and chat with at least one alumni from each program to understand what it’s like to be a student in the program.
  3. Use the tool we developed for you and add additional columns to capture notes from alumni (and perhaps your own research). Be sure to track everything you discover about the program.
  4. Based on the attributes most important to you and the budget you’ve set aside for your applications, decide which programs you’d like to apply to.
  5. Start looking into the application process!

Good luck!
